NAME

xindy - a flexible indexing system

SYNOPSIS

xindy
[-t] [-l logfile] [-o outfile] [-f filterprog] [-L n] [-v] indexstyle rawindex

DESCRIPTION

xindy is a general purpose index processor.

OPTIONS

-o outfile
Writes the tagged index to the specified file. If omitted, the name of the rawindex is used with its extension changed to .ind.
-l logfile
Writes logging information into the specified file.
-f nfilterprog
Run filterprog on rawindex before reading. The program must act as a filter reading from stdin and writing to stdout.
-L n
Sets the logging level to n with n one of {1,2,3}
-t
Activates the markup-trace function. Writes symbolic markup-tags to the final index which can be used to trace the markup process.
-v
Display the version number.
-help
Show a summary of the command-line options.
