Input Gears

An input gear acts as a source of raw data for your machine. The type of input gear you select dictates where the data can be read from. Possible data sources include reading from a file, a web URL, a database, the clipboard etc.

Input gears don't have an input connector since they act as their own data source. The type of output connector will depend on the type of data and how much structure can be extracted from it automatically.

A machine must have one input gear.
