NAME
slmodemd - Smart Link modem daemonSYNOPSIS
slmodemd [ options ]DESCRIPTION
slmodemd supports Smart Link AC'97 Riser modems and the SmartUSB56 USB modem.AC'97 Riser modems which are similar to the Smart Link chips might work as well, but are not explicitly supported.
After starting, slmodemd checks if it can access the hardware device for the modem, creates a PTY (pseudo-terminal) and creates a symbolic link at /dev/ttySL0 which points to this PTY. /dev/ttySL0 may then be opened by modem applications.
To configure slmodemd as a service to be started in certain system run levels, SuSE provides the init script /etc/init.d/slmodemd which starts and stops slmodemd and reads configuration parameters for calling slmodemd.
